A non-destructive test that evaluates the microstructure of metallic component while they are still in use. It’s also known as replica testing
How It Works
- Technicians prepare the suface by removing paint and polishing
- The surface is etched.
- The microstructure is transferred to a plastic tape.
- The tape is evaluated using a microscope with a digital camera.
