UV-Visible (UV-Vis)
A scientific technique that measures how a sample interacts with ultraviolet (UV) and visible light. It is used to identify compounds, measure concentrations, and study the physical and electronic structures of materials.
How It Works
- A beam of UV-Vis light passes through a sample.
- The amount of light that passes through or is absorbed is measured.
- A spectrum is plotted showing how the sample absorbs, transmits, or reflects light at different wavelengths.
