Thermal Shock Test
A procedure that exposes a material or product to extreme temperature changes. Thermal shock testing simulates a products life cycle by exposing the product to rapid changes of temperatures ranging from -60°C to 170°C.
How It Works
- A product is rapidly exposed to alternating high and low temperatures
- The test uses a dual climate chamber to transfer the product from one temperature extreme to the other.
- The number of cycles, soak times, and temperatures extremes are determined by the product’ s intended use.
